The Arfurathene system developed by Arcoy after plenty of research and study of corrosion problems prevailing in all major Industries. Arfurathene is having Compressive Strength of 800-900 Kg/cm2 which is higher than the Compressive Strength of Bricks. Arfurathene offers excellent abrassive resistance in addition to corrosion resistance to Acid, Alkalies and Solvents. Arfurathene is having water absorption of 0.5% max. Since Arfurathene is resistance to most acids/alkalies, oils, greases, salts, solvents etc. is ideal for use in most of the industries where corrosion prevails. Arfurathene's superior resistance quality to a varieties of corrosion chemicals makes Arfurathene stands out to be the best cement of all corrosion resistive cements. It is highly recommended for floors drains, verticals, subject to excessive physical and thermal abuse because of its maximum compressive strength and flexural strength properties with negligible absorption property. This will also replace the lengthy procedure of conventional Acid Proof Tile lining.

Arfurathene floors are easy to install with trained technicians. The concrete floors/ foundations / drains etc., where the Arfurathene floors are to be made, must be absolutely sound. The floors and drains must have minimum 2% slope to avoid stagnation. The surface must be clean and dry.

 

 
 
The mortar is easily prepared by mixing together Arfurathene powder and Arfurathene liquid resin to form a workable mix. the usual mixing ratio is by weight. Mixing Ratio : 0.9 parts Resin : 0.1 Part Hardener : 5 parts powder. But this mixing proportion may vary slightly depending upon the temperature and working conditions. The application method is very simple . The Arfurathene mortar is reddish/brown in colour.

 

 

 
Over the cleaned dry concrete surface Arfurathene primer is to be applied by brush application. When the primer is still tacky, Arfurathene mortar is applied using masons trowel and spread uniformly by masons steel float to the required thickness and finished smoothly. The initial set time will be usually 24 hours and final setting and full strength will be obtained after 7 days. The floor is ready for use from 8th day, onwards. However due to the exceptional properties, lined area can be put into use even after 3 days.

 

 
 
The freshly mixed mortar has to be utilized in about 20 to 30 minutes at 27° C.

 

 

 
When stored in its original containers in a cool and dry place at room temperature under shade, Arfurathene powder and resin has shelf life of about one year.
