Bituminol
is a Blend of Bitumen and graded acid resistant fillers and being supplied in cake form. The advantage of this product is used at higher Temperatures by providing mastic mortar our product Arcompound over the Bitumonial. This product along with Arocompound is mainly used on vertical surfaces for any height without the use of either chicken mesh or Expanded metal as reinforcement.

Bitumonial and Arocompound is used as an exposed lining on floors where traffic is light and Chemical spillages are upto 60oC. It is also used as membrane on floors, drains, sumps, foundations etc. of R.C.C. surfaces prior to Acid proof tile or brick lining. It is mainly used in the following industries.

Chemical Dye Stuff / Paint
Rayon, Pulp and Paper Fertilizers
Steel, Zinc, Copper, Pickling Plants Petrochemicals etc.

In case of floors, it should have a slope of min 1.5 to 2% towards the drain sumps. The surfaces should be thoroughly brushed to remove all loose particles, dust, dirt etc. and the surface muse be absolutely dry.

After the preparation of surface as stated above, the surfaces should be thoroughly coated with bituminus primer - Aroprimer by brush application. It takes about 8 hrs to dry.

Bituminol should be melted in cast iron posts over wood, charcoal, gas or oil fire. Break-up the cakes of Bituminol with an Axe to small lumps and put the same in the heating kettles. In melting the material cake has to be taken to prevent it from catching the fire. Heat until freely flowing material is obtained and now it is ready for application by means of wooden floats.

In case of floors the molten compound is poured hot on the floor using a wooden sqeege or straight edge and uniformly spread to a minimum thickness of 3 to 6 mm.

Over the above bituminol, Arocompound is to applied to a minimum thickness of 5 to 6 mm th. The procedures of metling application remains same as that of Bituminol.

Bituminol / Arocompund is generaly resistant to most inorganic acids of dilute and moderate concentrations and to alkalies. Is is not resistant to oxidising acids like chromic, nitric and organic acids, Solvents and Oils. For individual chemical resistance please contact our technical cell.

Both Bituminol and Arocompound having unlimited shelf life if stored in shades of ambient Temperature.
